Classroom Resources: Narrative Magazine.

Narrative Magazine is an online resource for "storytelling in the digital age", and I encourage you to click over  and check it out. You'll find fiction, non-fiction, poetry, classics, one-act plays, and audio and video readings to accompany some of it. The site showcases both emerging writers and established talents.

Smart Room Training - Thanks For Coming!

We held two workshops on how to use the new smart room equipment, and if you were able to attend, I hope you came away with some ideas for your classes. If you were not able to come, you can find the handout here.

I'm especially interested in how many of you make use of LaGuardia's streaming media project. Please let me know what you've used from the database and how easy or difficult it was to access.

Have fun! Here's a little humor and encouragement from Natalie Dee.

New Activity and Song for a New Semester

I've got a TV clip and a song ready to go for warm-up or intro work with your classes. Worksheets are available in hard copy in the binder by the teachers' computers or electronically on the wiki. As always, please modify as you see fit.

Modern Family is a teacher and student favorite. This clip allows students to focus on Gloria, Jay and Manny's differing speech styles.

The Black Keys are that rare group with critical acclaim and popular appeal.
