Korean University Students Confronting Stereotypes

Kerri is an English teacher in Korea, and she made this video examining some commonly-held stereotypes about Koreans with her students this week. Read about the project in this blog post from Asia Society. If you do a lesson on stereotypes, this might be a great way to prompt a piece of writing or a class discussion.

Evening Workshop: Recording With Your Students

We know that students benefit from recording and listening to their voices as part of their English studies: 96% of students agree with this, and 100% of faculty do as well. We also know that teachers want to do more of this with students, but would like more practice working with the technology before trying it in class. We've got a workshop next week to address this need!

Join us on Wednesday, November 9 for a Media Center workshop, Recording With Your Students. We will meet in C311 from 6:00 - 6:45. We will cover the basics of creating and saving recordings in the lab, and most importantly, you will have time to practice the process with assistance and without a roomful of students. We will also set aside some time to talk about ideas for working with recordings and to look at some online resources.
